Leveraging the scientific method is crucial for all business related functions and helps its applicants to make better and more profound decisions. The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary tool set for conducting research in the context of entrepreneurship. Thus, the course prepares students for activities and careers in academia (e.g. master thesis) and business.
In total there will be six block sessions. Within these sessions the tutors provide input about the entrepreneurship and research methods (e.g. the research process, literature review, quantitative and qualitative research, sampling strategies, primary data collection). The course will be designed in an interactive manner, by discussing scientific papers and reflecting on selected research projects. Students will apply for proposed research topics in the context of entrepreneurial finance (e.g. venture capital, crowdfunding etc.) and work on the projects in groups of two. There will be several academic assessments, e.g. class participation, presentations and a final written research paper.
