English Phonetics and Phonology - Einzelansicht

This course deals with the articulatory phonetics of English at both the segmental and the suprasegmental level, and gives students the opportunity to improve their own pronunciation. One important aspect of the course is a systematic consideration and comparison of the standard American and British accents.

Registration: Via WUSEL during  the official registration period.

First meeting: Please note that if you are not present at the first meeting and do not inform one of the instructors immediately, you will lose your right to a place in the course.

A bibliography of important reference sources will be made available and there will be a collection of books on reserve (a "Semesterapparat") in the library.

There are no requirements for participating in this course.

 Assessment will be based on a final written test and an evaluation of each student's pronunciation at the end of the course.
