This course aims at equipping student teachers with basic planning and analytical skills prior to the ‘Praxissemester’ (MEd 2014). We will analyse videotaped English lessons and discuss learning processes and instructional procedure for the various skills and systems of language. An introduction to EFL lesson planning, based on current curricula and task-based approaches in TEFL, is part of the course and will equip you with the necessary tools for your first lessons. Another focus of the course is to provide guidance for designing your own ‘Studienprojekt’ in the context of the ‘Praxissemester’.
