Digital learning can be used to support different approaches and methodologies of language education. In this course we will explore digital tools for language learning and their potential for enhancing instructed language acquisition.
Understanding the link between affordances of the technologies and learner-engagement is key to understanding what works, what does not and why. Thus it is not enough to simply understanding technological change, important though this is, but in using digital tools we also need to understand the impact of such change on the actual processes of learning. Another interest of this course therefore lies also on suitable theoretical frameworks for digital learning.
