Kommentar

Die Vorlesung vermittelt Grundbegriffe und ausgewählte Theorien und Methoden der Organisationssoziologie, zudem Kenntnisse zur Entstehung und zum Wandel formal organisierter Bereiche der modernen Gesellschaft. Sie befähigt zur Charakterisierung von Organisationen hinsichtlich ihrer Funktionsweise und ihrer gesellschaftlichen Einbettung. Allgemein befähigt die Vorlesung zur Lektüre und Analyse von Primärliteratur der „klassischen” und „neueren” Organisationsforschung. Schwerpunkt sind wegweisende („klassische”) Studien, die bestimmte Argumente und/oder Denkfiguren in einschlägiger und/ oder origineller Weise formuliert haben. Auf dieser Basis geht es auch um Folgestudien („neuere Literatur”), die diese Argumente und Denkfiguren empirisch überprüft und/ oder weiterentwickelt haben.

Es werden konkret folgende Themen behandelt: 1.Organisationen als korporative Akteure 2.Rationalisierung durch Organisationen 3.Funktionen und Folgen formaler Strukturen 4.Formalisierung als Rationalitätsmythos 5.Folgebereitschaft, Motivation und Sozialisation 6.Loyalität, Widerspruch und Abwanderung 7.Begrenzte Rationalität und organisationales Lernen 8.Professionen und Expertenorganisationen 9.Strukturwandel von Universitäten 10.Organisationsstrukturen und Systemunfäll (vgl.
