This class aims to provide students (especially those working on an MAP, a research project, a BA thesis, an MEd thesis or doctoral thesis) with plenty of opportunity to discuss research in EFL teaching and learning as well as in bilingual education with a focus on either their own projects or seminal papers and studies by other scholars. It also invites students who are planning to take their Fachdidaktik oral exams to review relevant literature and key studies from the various domains of TEFL, bilingual education/Bilingualer Unterricht, psycholinguistics and theories of second language acquisition. In some sessions you will work on your strategies for organising your ideas, planning your writing, and structuring your essays; in others you will advance your oral skills by presenting a key study or seminal text to the audience. In addition, guest speakers will be invited to speak about current issues or their own research projects and will thus add to the topicality of our class.
